The Federalist Papers: Here's my own criticism of President Trump, in the spirit of Teddy Roosevelt. He's moving too slowly.
Start with deportations. Every month an illegal immigrant with a final removal order stays in the country is a month the law isn't being enforced. Courts and activist groups will slow-walk every case they can. The administration needs to move faster than they can litigate.
Then there's the federal bureaucracy. More than two million civilian employees, most protected by civil service rules that make removal nearly impossible. Too many still see their job as resisting the voters' choice. Clear them out.
And accountability. We already know what happened with Crossfire Hurricane. The Justice Department's own inspector general found 17 significant errors and omissions in the FISA applications used to surveil a Trump campaign adviser. An FBI lawyer pleaded guilty to altering an email. Yet the senior officials who ran it have largely faced no consequences.
That's not justice. That's a two-tier system.
In other words, I don't want President Trump to change course. I want him to go faster.
The midterms are weeks away, and after that, there are only two years left.

High gas and diesel prices are caused by Democrats shuttering refiners and highly taxing gas and diesel. Obama and Biden saddle domestic oil refiners with egregious layers of regulations. It drove many out of business. Now we are paying the price.
Biden's first day, he killed Keystone, froze ANWR oil and gas leasing, halted new federal drilling permits, stopped the border wall, and opened the border.
Trump is rolling back regulations and encouraging renewed investment in domestic production.
President Trump announces he's personally signed and granted all permits for the 800-mile Alaska gas pipeline Democrats desperately tried to block.
Real Earnings
After-tax take-home income is still up $2,000 under Trump. Inflation remains elevated, but when you account for the Trump tax cuts, most middle-income families are still seeing gains in real purchasing power. At this point in Biden’s presidency, real wages were down nearly 5%.
