In 2023, much of Latin America was governed by left-leaning or center-left leaders, part of a broader "pink tide" that included major countries such as Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and others across South America. Just three years later, that political map looks very different, with a noticeable shift toward right-leaning governments across much of the region.
The change has been driven by a series of elections shaped by concerns over inflation, crime, migration, corruption, economic performance, and frustration with incumbent governments. Countries such as Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Ecuador moved to the right, while others remained on the left, shifted toward the center, or entered more uncertain political transitions.
The comparison also shows how quickly political cycles can change. A country that strongly favored one side of the political spectrum only a few years ago can move sharply in the opposite direction when voters become dissatisfied with the government in power.
The colors represent broad ideological classifications of national governments rather than exact measurements of every policy position. Political systems differ widely across the Americas, and some governments combine economically conservative, socially moderate, or otherwise mixed positions that do not fit neatly into a simple left-right scale.
The classifications draw on official election results, national governments, and reporting from sources including Reuters and CARICOM, reflecting the situation as of August 2026.
Taken together, the two maps capture a clear regional trend: the Americas were significantly more left-leaning in 2023, while by 2026 the political landscape had become more mixed and noticeably more favorable to the right.
Venezuela, shown in green, is transitioning with Rubio’s help. Columbia, shown blue, has joined the Right-leaning shift. Brazil, the big red blob in South America, will likely be next. Mexico’s president is controlled by the drug cartels, it remains red.

You don’t install a Democrat nominee with zero delegates by “accident”.
You don’t give more media attention to Donald Trump’s McDonald’s visit over his TWO assass*nation attempts by “accident”.
You don't hastily leave Afghanistan, ignore the intelligence and let 13 American service members die "by accident."
You don't beg 51 former intelligence officials to lie on a document stating Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation, "by accident."
You don’t allow unvetted foreigners into this country that are harming American citizens “by accident”.
You don't have a two-tiered Justice system for the simple fact of political persecution, "by accident".
You don't allow for rampant inflation, high fuel costs and high groceries and taxes, "by accident".
You don’t use gain of function to enhance a bioweapon, release it onto the population and profit of it “by accident”. Looking at you Fauci and Gates — you both belong in GITMO.
You don't accept Chinese and Ukrainian money to enrich your family and sell out your country, "by accident".
And most importantly, you don't rig and steal elections, "by accident."
There are zero coincidences and nothing happens “by accident".
People need to understand, we witnessed real-time, and well-coordinated and taxpayer dollar paid for treason from the UniParty.
